Brexit
Well dudes what do i do after a hard brexit, back to UK or Visa ?
Brexit
Sound like a simple question. But for sure isn’t...
What’s you pros and cons?
Hi Rainer 1965,well Pro heimat Uk, Con my wife is German. That is the basic answer, obvoiusley it is more complicated as one thinks.
Pro no more EU rules if no Deal ,Con start life again in high age ( Over 50).
And of course politics is shite ,but it just interest,s me to here a German point of view.
Brexit
You’re wife is German and you live here. So that is the answer, right?
In all honesty, the things that happens in UK right now are absolutely unprofessional and politically absurd.
No way for me personally to go over the channel in this times. But this is nothing you would care about. You need to answer your questions for yourself: live here with wife and family and watch the downfall of „Great Britain“ from a safe distance or go there and live there with the task to change things...or accept being whatever might be left from UK once separated.
If You have your job and your wife in Germany, why to go back to UK?
Goosegreen.
Ich würde dort mein Zelt aufschlagen, wo das Wort "wir" für mich die größte Bedeutung hat.

Rainer 1965 wise word,s sure the things are absurd and as for the politics well , we all now what politicians are like.I do not think GB will suffer a downfall ,a setback maybe but no downfall, other nations succeed outside of the so called wonderfull EU after all.
Intersting to say go back and change things , i can imagine my contribution would not be of any help, but i get your point.Thanx.
Markus my heart and soul will be forever British that is fact ,and i would never get a German pass why should i ? i am not German.
Christoff Yes my wife is German ,if there is NO DEAL i might have to go back ...time is certainley running out ..
Thanx guy,s for your opinion,s it alway.,s helps different point of views.
Goose
did you somebody ask the choice of your wife ?
did you somebody ask the choice of your bike ?
You do not suffer from british beer ?
Your choice.
UK is nice if you can afford.
Hello Frankysan, when the vote was done three years ago with a 52% win to 48% i thought a deal would be struck and i could save some money and retire to England at 63 .Now things are looking like a no deal and then i might have to leave sooner.
What my bike has to do with the question i do not know, and yes i love my wife.
Oh and it,s Goosegreen not Gosse.MfG .
I don´t understand why you have to go back, if there won´t be a deal?
Hello Christof ,apparentley ( I have no duel nationality) one has three months after a NO DEAL to get a Visa ,as in my first question.
I would not want duel nationality, and i am not sure if the Visa will secure my RIGHTS as a British person living in the EU after a NO deal brexit ,thats all .
Perhaps i could stay with a visa BUT i am not sure if it,s worth the hassel, and of course like i said it,s bloody complicated ,and i wanted some ideas from this great forum.
I moved around a lot and Home is Home.
After many years i moved Back to my hometown, where all man Friends live. But after all that years people are changing, Friends are still friends but they are Not the same anymore.
Go and Drink a Beer with Friends you made in Germany. Not all together. One by one and ASK your self the question, would you miss him or her?
Look at your wife. Social contacts are very important. Sure you find new people but can your wife life without her friends?
Would you force her to leave her friends and family?

Hello Invalid_UID ,society in genral is changing as for myself i live for myself , after all these year,s i would miss certain aspects of Germany .
My wife still has her family here so yes that is a problem ,would she miss her family ,yes i imagine so.
I would not force her to do anything never have ,never will.
So as one see,s it is not a simple thing to consider that,s why i put it out here ,i realise that this is a HD forum, but as i am in the " Scene" for more
than a couple of years,i have learned that there are some clever people out there. Any way thanx and have a nice Sunday.
Sure, you will never force her to leave her family.
But will she tell you that you are forcing her???
Or will she live with it to make you happy?

We have a good open relationship after 27 year,s i know my wife and she know,s me,so yes she would tell me straight up.
And we have also said if push comes to a shove less money and back to the UK,sooner than later.
Our plan was to retire in the UK,but at the moment that would be 7 years to early.
