Es gibt einen neuen Rückruf (Herausgegeben 16.Dez. 2014) für o.a. Modelle bzgl. möglicher Bremsprobleme.

Ob die eigene Maschine betroffen ist, kann man auch auf Harley USA prüfen, sofern man sich dort registriert hat. Oder auf Post vom Händler warten.

Rückruf Bremszylinder

Harley-Davidson has filed a recall on approximately 19,015 2012 Dyna and Softail motorcycles to address potential problems with the front brake master cylinder. The recall targets corrosion to banjo belt threads on the front brake lines that could result in a “sudden loss of brake fluid, which could lead to a loss of front brake function, possibly resulting in a crash.”

Harley-Davidson is said to be in the process of notifying owners, the recall reported to begin January 14, 2015. Owners of the motorcycles in question are encouraged to take their bikes to local dealerships for inspection free-of-charge. Dealers will flush and inspect the front brake master cylinder and replace if necessary.

Owners may contact Harley-Davidson customer service at 1-800-258-2464. Harley’s number for this recall is 0163 and 0164. “Two recalls are necessary to cover all affected models because of the differences in kit component content required for the two populations.” They may also call the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov. SUMMARY:
Harley-Davidson Motor Company (Harley-Davidson) is recalling certain model year 2012 FXST103, FLSTC, FLSTC103, FLSTF, FLSTF103, FXDL, FXDWG, FXDWG103, FXDC, FXDB, FLSTN, FLSTN103, FLSTC103Shrine, FLSTFB, FLSTFB103, FXS, FXS103, FLS, FLS103, FLD, FLD103, FXDF, and FXDF103 Dyna and Softail motorcycles manufactured August 22, 2011, through February 24, 2012. In the affected motorcycles, the threads for the brake line banjo bolt in the front brake master cylinder may corrode.

CONSEQUENCE:
If the threads corrode, a sudden loss of brake fluid could result, causing a loss of the front brakes, and increasing the risk of a crash.

REMEDY:
Harley-Davidson will notify owners, and dealers will flush and inspect the front brake master cylinder and, if necessary, replace the master cylinder, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin on January 14, 2015. Owners may contact Harley-Davidson customer service at 1-800-258-2464. Harley-Davidson's number for this recall is 0163 and 0164.

Hab's zusammengefasst!

Habe Post von HD Deutschland bekommen, dass meine 2012er Slim möglicherweise betroffen ist. Kann das nur ein offizieller Händler wie das HoF machen oder können auch andere Werkstätten prüfen + nachbesseren?

Ich war betroffen! Von dem Problem. Hab meine Slim Ende 2013 neu gekauft.

Das schlimme war das ich von nem Reisbrenner mit Brembo Monoblocks auf die Slim gewechselt!
Am Anfang hab ich gedacht das sei normal das die Harleybremse so schlecht ist. Bis ich einmal ins Leere gegriffen habe und meine Slim fast in einem Porsche geparkt hab!

EInfach mal zum Händler fahren und nachfragen ob deine Kiste davon betroffen ist.
