The Street 500/750 recall is the result of an oversight at the Kansas City plant, according to the Non-Compliance Notice provided by the NHTSA. Without the rear reflector installed, the vehicle does not meet the requirements of FMVSS108.
The other, larger recall is the result of a “chemical reaction inside the sealed clutch system (which) creates gas bubbles which may cause loss of clutch lift,” according to the Defect Notice submitted to the NHTSA on April 9, 2015.
